Meet theTeacher

      

 Ms. Lawhon M.A.ED               

Ms. Lawhon is certified in the areas of Bilingual/Dual language Educator (both in TX and Puerto Rico) and Elementary School Director (P.R. USA ).

She completed a Master Degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision., a B.A in Bilingual/TESOL Educational and have obtained 6 credits

towards the completion of a doctoral degree in Dual Language Curriculum Development. Additional skills and training in the area of

Educational Puppetry, song writer, and published children book author.  

Ms. Lawhon enjoys teaching and working towards the successful implementation of the

Dual Language program. During her free time she enjoys listening to music, painting,

writing, but above all, spending quality time with her family.

Special Awards & Recognitions

  • In May, 2003 - Special Recognition by the Mayor Carlos Mendez, Municipality of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico for Outstanding Contribution to the TESOL program at Aguadilla School District . Creation of the English Booster Reading Enhancement Project
  • In March 25, 2013 - Excellence Award  from the Poteet ISD.  Presently, Ms. Lawhon continues working as a Dual Language educator  and  is scheduled to begin her "Meet the Author - Signing Tour" this coming summer, 2013.
  • July , 2013: Best Practices (video lesson) - Ms. Lawhon' video lesson was selected for best practices by  Texas A & M /TEA . Only 40 teachers in the State of Texas were selected.  Congratulations  Ms. Lawhon!
